Supervision

Crown Supervision is the music supervision department of Crown Talent & Media Group. The company is run by Claire Freeman, who brings a wealth of music and film experience to the table.

Claire has been involved in music supervision throughout her career, starting out as film composer originally, followed by two years in music management, during which she was Production Assistant to Paul Oakenfold on several of his feature film scores including ‘Nobel Son’ and ‘Nothing Like the Holidays’.

Claire made the move into specialising in music supervision in 2008 and has since managed the music supervision on a variety of films including Working Titles Stephen Hawking biopic ‘The Theory of Everything’, Ricky Gervais ‘David Brent: Life on the Road’, BBC Films ‘Testament of Youth’, cult hit ‘The Disappearance of Alice Creed’, and box office smash ‘TT3D: Closer to the Edge’.

Crown Supervision provides a comprehensive suite of in-house services including:

Creative Music Supervision
Work with the director and producers to select a musical direction for the film.
• Help select a composer.
• Source and negotiate the usage of any third party music or Musicians that the film requires.

Legal and Business
Negotiate terms of contract with the composer.
• Prepare and negotiate all synchronisation and master usages.
• Prepare correct cue sheets reflecting the copyright in the score and it’s source music with the relevant collections societies.
• Supervise the registration of all cue sheets on a worldwide basis.
• Prepare music team and track credits for each film.
• Source a Record and publishing deal.

Accountancy
Prepare music department budgets and keep the producers fully briefed as to changes in the budget.
• Supervise and budget all orchestral and recording sessions as required.

Resources
Claire has a substantial library of music at her disposal and long established relationships with most of the major publishers and record labels, making her well placed to negotiate with all aspects of licensing.
