Sonny Jay

Sonny Jay is one of our newest and brightest presenting talents. 

Sonny’s young career is steeped in the entertainment industry, from lead acting roles as a teenager at The Donmar Warehouse, starring in Westend Musicals and later forming a band with childhood friends and getting to the Final of Britain’s Got Talent, at 23 years old the future looks very bright for Sonny.

In the summer of 2017, after a few years of working in local radio and learning how to drive a desk and becoming trained broadcaster, Sonny joined Capital FM.  Sonny has now joined the new Breakfast Show and can be heard & seen doing live interviews and features as well as depping across a number of the stations key programmes.  

Sonny has played The London Palladium to Wembley Stadium. Started off training at CPA studios in Essex and made his debut in the West End at The London Palladium with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang then onto John Mortimers A Voyage around My Father at the Donmar Warehouse. 

From 16 Sonny then became part of Loveable Rogues. Three piece music band who in 2012 went on Britain’s Got Talent singing self-penned songs and made it to the final finishing 4th.

A week after the final, Loveable Rogues then went on to sign to Simon Cowells label SYCO at Sony Music. Released ‘What A Night’ as their debut single which got into the top ten official UK charts then later on their album.

In the process of all of this toured the UK as Loveable Rogues but also supporting Olly Murs on his 28 date sold out arena tour plus supporting Scouting For Girls and playing Wembley Stadium for Capitals Summertime Ball. The band later announced in early 2015 they’d be taking a break.
