Jesse McClure shot to fame in the UK as the major breakout star of Dave Channel’s hit format, Storage Hunters. Taking the country by storm, Storage Hunters has been Dave’s highest rating show for the past two years, with episodes regularly averaging more than a million viewers and winning its slot up against Channel 4 and ITV2.
Soon after this, Jesse commenced filming on British Treasure – American Gold, a format he devised himself and brought to life with ZigZag Productions. The show saw him travelling the length and breadth of the UK in search of antiques and collectibles to send back to his family’s antiques shop in Los Angeles. From bone china vases to Elton John’s gold plated sink, vintage one armed bandits to armoured military vehicles, the show focused on the unique and unexpected side of British history. The series went out on Quest towards the end of 2016 and talks are in place for series 2.
Growing up in California, Jesse was surrounded by antiques from a young age and found himself fascinated by this world and that of collectibles and the resale trade. Naturally this love of all things old and sellable led to a career working alongside his family in the shop. Now a successful dealer in his own right, a TV star and radio host (the breakfast show on City Beat FM), Jesse’s larger than life character and his trademark sideburns and dark shades masks an encyclopaedic knowledge of the resale value of even the most obscure treasures and collectibles. His brazen American confidence and cheeky Californian charisma have made him a huge hit with viewers, who love to see him play dirty and rub his fellow Storage Hunters up the wrong way.
2014 saw Jesse embark on his first ever UK meet and greet tours – two series of promotional dates saw up to 5,000 fans flock to meet him in person – and he’s been in constant demand ever since. He’s also appeared at several Comic Con events and during 2015, was a guest star on Storage Hunters UK.
When not trading goods or making TV shows, Jesse lives online and has seen growth in follower numbers across all his own social media platforms by ensuring that he posts regularly and engages with his loyal and hardcore fan-base. And staying in the world of digital and tech, he even has his own app; ‘Storage Auction King – Jesse McClure Edition’ which was released in 2014.
A massive football fan, Jesse has strong links with Accrington Stanley FC and Stoke City and has appeared on Soccer AM where he took part in the crossbar challenge at Stanley’s home ground – he missed.
In the world of branding, Jesse worked very closely with the Cheshire based, Black Circle Coffee Company to create his own brand of Fairtrade, organic coffee, known as Sideburns Bold which is available online as well as through Selfridges.
